1. Manhunt Underway After ‘Politically Motivated’ Shootings Killed Minnesota Lawmaker and Her Husband

Two Minnesota lawmakers were targeted in a politically motivated shooting on Saturday morning, and the manhunt for the assassin is still underway. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were shot at their home in Champlin, while State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband were killed in a separate attack at their home in Brooklyn Park, approximately 90 minutes later. The suspect, Vance Boelter, 57, a 6-foot-1 white man with brown hair, impersonated a police officer and left behind a manifesto listing multiple officials along with "No Kings" flyers in his car. The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Follow along here for the latest updates.

2. Iran Fires More Missiles at Israel After Israeli Military Continues Strikes

On June 13, Israel launched "Operation Rising Lion," targeting over 100 sites in Iran, including nuclear facilities and military leadership residences. The strikes resulted in at least 78 deaths and over 320 injuries including the deaths of top Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists. In retaliation, Iran hit back on Friday evening, launching what state media said were hundreds of ballistic missiles as part of a “crushing response,” targeting Israeli military bases and cities, causing significant damage and casualties. The U.S. and Iran were supposed to hold their sixth round of indirect talks about Iran’s nuclear program on Sunday in Oman, but Oman’s foreign minister said the meeting was canceled after Israel's attacks on Iran. Read more about the latest.

3. Here Is How What Is Happening in Los Angeles Impacts Us All

On June 6, ICE agents began aggressive raids in Los Angeles targeting immigrants, pulling people from their homes and communities, which sparked protests and led to National Guard and Marine deployments. Lindsay Toczylowski, head of Immigrant Defenders Law Center, describes how these raids have deeply affected families, many of whom are long-term residents with no criminal records, and highlights the harsh tactics used by federal agents. Learn more about what you can do to support immigrant rights and prevent further injustices.
