1. The Rot Creeping Into Our Minds

3. Which Grandparent Has The Biggest Impact On Kids?

A study from the University of Turku in Finland finds that maternal grandmothers can help shield children from long-term effects of trauma. Children who received support, like child care, emotional presence, or financial help from their maternal grandmother were less likely to experience lasting negative impacts from adverse childhood experiences. Researchers found this protective “buffering” effect only applied to maternal grandmothers. Learn more.
