1. Shots Fired at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

It was Trump's first time attending the dinner as a sitting president—and it ended before he ever gave his remarks. A gunman opened fire near the hotel's security checkpoint around 8:40 p.m., sending guests diving under tables as the Secret Service flooded the ballroom.
